We started this company with a solid maple watch case. When we created our first all burl watch, it set a new standard of what wood species will represent our Classics collection. A burl is a natural outgrowth commonly near the base of a tree - often described as a deformed bulge. It's said to be caused by stress to the tree via virus, fungus, insect attack or injury. As with most things, out of great stress, comes great beauty.
